Battles
A timed contest for two to eight players: whoever ends with the most net practice credits wins.
How a battle works
- Create a battle, from a room or on its own. You choose how long it lasts: 60 to 600 seconds, in 10-second steps. The default is 3 minutes (180 seconds). It opens in a lobby with an invite code.
- Invite your crew: 2 to 8 players can join. A lobby that nobody starts within 1 hour expires.
- Start. Only the creator can start it, and only with at least two players. The clock runs for the length you chose.
- Tap as usual. Every practice box you get accepted during the battle window counts, on any market.
- Settling. When time is up, the battle waits until every box that counts has settled.
- Final. Scores are final once all of those boxes have settled and at least 5 seconds have passed after the window closed. The pause is there so that a tap accepted right at the end, whose commit lands a moment later, still counts.
Scoring
Your score is the net practice credits of the boxes accepted during the battle window: payouts minus stakes, voids as zero. Boxes accepted before the start or after the end don't count, even if they settle during the battle. Players with equal scores share a rank.
Because the battle waits for every counted box to settle, the final score is from recorded results only.
Names in a battle
Joining a battle is an explicit social act. The other players in the battle, and the battle's room if it has one, see each player's display name for that battle, even if that player has not turned on "show me in feeds" for their account. Outside the battle nothing changes: your account-level and per-room settings still decide where else your name appears. A battle in a private room can be opened by its players and the room's members only; anyone else sees "not found".
Rematch
Hit Rematch once a battle is final to open a new lobby with the same length (and the same room, if it had one). You are in it; the other players see a Join the rematch link on the old result and join if they want to. Nobody is added without asking. A rematch counts towards your open battles like any other battle. It is a new battle with its own score; the old result stays as it was.
Battles use practice credits only. Live boxes don't count.
