Add to home screen
strikeabox is a hosted web app: you play it at app.strikeabox.com in any modern browser, with nothing to download. If you play often, add it to your home screen (or desktop). It then opens from its own icon, full-screen on a phone, and always runs the current version from our server. There is no app-store download.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open app.strikeabox.com in Safari.
- Tap Share.
- Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android (Chrome)
- Open app.strikeabox.com in Chrome.
- Open the ⋮ menu.
- Tap Add to Home screen.
Desktop (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers)
Open the app, then add a shortcut from the browser menu (in Chrome: Cast, save and share → Create shortcut, with Open as window ticked). The app then opens in its own window.
What works offline
Very little, on purpose.
- The app keeps only its static shell (the code and styles) so it opens fast.
- Prices, quotes, balances and results are never cached. API and live-connection traffic always goes to the server.
- Taps are never queued. When you're offline, tapping is switched off. Nothing is stored to send later, so you can't come back online to find a tap you didn't mean to make. guarantee
When the connection returns, the app reconnects, fetches your boxes and balance again, and picks up any results that settled while you were away. Settlement never depended on your device being online.
If something looks out of date
Close every strikeabox window or tab, including the home-screen app, and open it again. A banner also offers to reload when a new version is out.
