Getting started
Open the app, get practice credits, tap a box. No sign-up, no wallet.
1. Open the app
Go to app.strikeabox.com. The first visit creates a guest account for you, with a session kept in this browser.
- You start with 1,000.00 practice credits.
- You get a display name like
player-xxxx. Change it in settings: 3–20 characters, letters, digits, spaces and_ . -, with no double spaces. Names are unique, ignoring upper and lower case. - A session lasts up to 30 days. A guest account has no password and no email, so clearing this site's data signs you out of it for good. Your credits stay with that account; there is nothing to recover them with.
2. Know what credits are
Practice credits are points for playing. They have no cash value. You can't buy them, sell them, withdraw them or swap them for anything. They exist so you can learn the grid without risking anything.
Credits are counted exactly, to the hundredth: 1,000.00 credits is stored as the whole number 100000. Nothing is rounded in your favour or against you except where these docs say so.
Your balance has two parts:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Available | Credits you can stake now |
| In play | Stakes on boxes that are not settled yet |
3. Tap a box
Pick a stake, then tap a box on the grid. Each tap stakes 1 to 100 credits. Each box shows one number, its multiplier rounded down to 0.1×; hover it, or press and hold it on a phone, to see the exact multiplier and its chance before you let go. Read How to tap for what the board shows.
4. Watch it settle
Your box shows its state in order: Sending, Accepted, Live, Awaiting settlement, then Won, Lost or Void, with a word on the box and a sentence in the line under the board. The states page explains each one. The outcome rules say exactly what counts as a touch.
Results lead with the net change. A 1.45× win on a 10-credit stake reads +4.50, not 14.50.
Refill
Ran low? Use Refill.
- Available once per UTC day.
- Only when your available balance is below 1,000.00 credits.
- It tops your available balance back up to 1,000.00. It does not touch credits in play.
Refill credits are free practice credits, like the rest.
Limits that apply to everyone
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Stake per tap | 1–100 credits |
| Your total open stake (unsettled boxes) | up to 500 credits |
| Tap rate | bursts of 8, then 4 per second |
| Potential payout on one box, all players together | up to 20,000 credits |
| Potential payout across the whole game | up to 500,000 credits |
A tap that would break a limit is rejected with a clear reason. See rejections.
