Place a live box
Choose a size, tap a box above or below the price, check the plan, confirm.
Choose a size
Tap the stake chip: $25, $50, $100 or $200. Sizes under Strike's minimum order for a market are greyed out, with the reason.
Read the boxes
Each box shows its estimated gain if the target fills, after fees, at your size: +$3.10, for example. Boxes near the price can show a negative amount, when the move to the target is smaller than the fees.
Tap a box
↑ above the price opens a long. ↓ below opens a short. The row with the price is blank.
Check the plan
Before anything is sent, you see the plan.
The plan for a short on BTC.Test build · example values - Long or short.
- Expected entry price.
- Target: the edge of your box.
- Stop: the same distance the other way.
- Estimated result at the target, after fees and spread.
- Fees in dollars, in and out.
It also shows the estimated loss if the stop fills, your margin, the expected fill and when the box closes, and says that a target hit is not a guaranteed profit. How this trade works, one tap away, explains the rest.
Confirm
It goes to Strike. If the book moved, you get a fresh plan instead. If nothing would fill, the button says so and stays off.
Watch it
The box shows its status. At the window end, anything still open closes, even with the app closed. To close early, open History, pick Live and tap Close now.

Real fills, fees and result from Strike. The result leads with what you made or lost, after fees.
How the estimate works
The amount on a box comes from the same plan the confirm sheet shows, worked out for your size:
- the entry you'd likely get in Strike's book now;
- the box's target;
- Strike's trading fee and the strikeabox fee, on the way in and on the way out.
It's rounded down to the cent, so it never shows more than the plan. A box shows no amount when Live is closed on the market or your size is below Strike's minimum.
The estimate is a guide. Fills, fees and slippage decide the real result. Your stop limits the loss, though on a thin book a stop can fill past its trigger. Fees →

When Live is closed
If Strike's book is too thin to get out safely, Live pauses on that market and says why. Demo still works.
The Live card shows the reason whether or not your wallet is connected, so you know before setting up. The footer under the board says Live is closed on that coin, and a tap on a box there says why and opens nothing.
A market is open while the best bid and ask are both within 0.75% of the mark price, and each side holds at least twice your box size within that band. A stale price or order book closes it too. Thin books are normal on testnet.
Live is also closed on a market while Strike's smallest allowed order price there is above the market price, since no order can be placed. That is the case for ADA-USD on testnet.
If a close fails
Still open on Strike
Your position is still open on Strike. Open the Strike app with the same wallet, close it, and cancel leftover orders.
strikeabox tries first: it retries the close three times, each with a wider price allowance. It never sends a new try while an earlier one could still reach Strike: if Strike neither confirms nor cancels it, the box shows Still open and strikeabox keeps checking. If the position is still open after the three tries, it places a protective stop where it can and keeps checking. The position keeps its profit or loss, and pays or receives funding, until you close it. Meanwhile, you can't open a new box on that market.

Limits
3 open boxes, one per market, and up to $5,000 of boxes per UTC day. Live skips a market where your Strike account already holds a position.
